Sean is a First Year Student. We are looking at putting a plan in place for the October Mid-Term Break. He is going on a trip with his Soccer Club to the UK over the first Weekend including Monday. Also, he is away all day on Friday with the Scouts. I recommended the following schedule for the 9 Days
Case Study 2: Sixth Year Student
Andrew is a Sixth Year Student. We are looking at putting a plan in place for his Homework, Study & Revision for weekdays. He has very definite views on the path he wants to take at Third Level. The Course he wants to gain entry to requires in excess of 500 points. He is a member of the Senior Rugby Squad in the School and has to make serious commitments to this.
Staying Focussed During COVID-19
One of the first things I say to Students when I start working with them is you are going to succeed no matter what you have to face. You have to find a way to deal with whatever obstacle you are faced with. I never thought in my wildest dreams that they would ever have to deal with anything like the current Covid-19 Crisis.
The Importance of Rest & Recovery
I was Year Head for First Year Students for 8 years during the 1990s. At my first assembly with them, I decided to help them in relation to putting together a daily Homework Plan. I gave each of them a blank template to work from. I noticed immediately that the word Homework didn’t go down well with them. There was absolutely no enthusiasm from them with regard to doing this.

Interview Techniques
There are 4 Main Elements in my Interview Technique Service :-
1. Help & Support with completing the Application Form.
2. The Profile – I compile a profile of each candidate I work with from information they provide me with which usually comes in the form of an Application Form and/or a CV. From this, I draw up a list of Strengths I see each candidate has relative to the position being applied for and I pose questions for them to respond to in relation to the Skills & Qualities required for the post.
