Student Mentoring
For Second Level Students
About This Service
Our student mentoring service is aimed primarily at Secondary School Students. The aim of this mentoring programme is to help students realise their potential by applying themselves to the best of their ability in order to achieve their goals.
The Process
The full mentoring programme
The process involves at least 6 one to one meetings with each Student (Parents can also attend) throughout the school year.
A big emphasis is put on bringing real structure to each Student’s life. A specific Daily Timetable is put in place for doing Homework, Study & Revision. This timetable includes Leisure/Sporting/Rest time.
Advice & Support is provided on how to do quality work and on how to realise one’s potential in Exams.
Plans are put in place for Holiday/Mid-Term Breaks.
A comprehensive report is emailed to each Student (copy to Parents) following each meeting including recommendations. Handouts are provided in key areas.
The 'one time' mentoring workshop
This workshop is a ‘one time’ mentoring session for a student to address a certain area that they would like to address.
This consists of a brief profile analysis, a one hour one to one session, followed by a comprehensive report.
It also includes a follow-up meeting to review everything and see that the recommendations are being implemented.
Who is Student Mentoring aimed at?
It is mainly aimed at Junior & Leaving Certificate Students but also caters for First, Second and Fifth Year Students.
